Design a Differentiated Lesson Plan
The main strategy I used are the random partner tickets. This is I pass out the tickets to every kid randomly. Then they have to quietly find their partner and pick a place to sit in under one minute. An example of what might be on the ticket it one might have a slice of bread with jelly on it. This person needs to then find the partner that has a slice of bread with peanut butter on it because they go together and are therefore partners. My students have been using these since the beginning of the year and know the rules. Some students do not enjoy being partnered up randomly, so there is always the discussion that sometimes we work with people we may not want to work with, however we treat them with respect and kindness. Other students love these because it is a fun way to find your partner and it is always random so they may work with someone they do not always work with.
